Look Development

Having a show LUT across all production monitors is paramount to the efficiency of a production. The ability to accurately visualise the tail-end of a colour pipeline during filming empowers filmmakers with confidence to make key decisions on set.

From fundamental choices such as determining the colour temperature for lighting to meticulous considerations like the hues of costumes and production design, having the look reproduced allows a shared understanding among departments, ultimately saving time and money in post.

During look development, every technical and creative element is taken into consideration. No matter the genre or camera equipment, every look is fully customised to suit the project’s needs. Development can be based on test charts, but providing test shots with similar lighting setups and location to the actual set can drastically increase the accuracy of the look.

The look can be delivered both as a .cube file and as a camera look file (e.g. ARRI Look File). This gives your production the flexibility to load the look onto different cameras and monitors. The look can also be targeted to Rec. 709 or any camera space, so the same look can be used in editorial and in the grade.
